A few parts of the country particularly in the Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley and the Central Highlands received rainfall.However, a comparison between the previous seven days (25th February to 3rd March, 2019) with the period under review (4th to 10thMarch, 2019) indicatesa slight increase in rainfall amounts over few parts.

Kisii Meteorological Station recorded the highest seven-day total rainfall of101.0mm. Other stations that recorded significant seven-day totals include KakamegaMeteorological Station(51.8mm), KitaleMeteorological Station(31.8mm), Nyamira District Office in Nyamira County (30.4mm), Mukakula Farm in Bungoma County(28.0mm), Kapenguria Rainfall Station in West Pokot County (27.3mm), Suba Meteorological Station (20.8mm) and Busia Ministry of Water Offices(20.0mm)as depicted in Figures 1 and 2.

Kisii and Kakamega Meteorological Stationsrecorded heavy rainfall (20 – 50mm within 24hours) of 44.0mm on 5th March, 2019and 41.2mm on 7th March, 2019 respectively……Read more
