
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT SEVEN-DAY PERIOD VALID 18TH TO 24TH JUNE, 2019
Rainfall continued to be recorded over several parts of the country particularly in theLake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Central Highlands and the Coast as depicted inFigure 1. However, the Northeast and the Southeast Lowlands remained generally dry.A comparison between the previous seven days (3rd to 9th June, 2019) and the period under review (10thto 16thJune, 2019) indicatesa decrease in rainfall amounts over most parts of the country although some Coastal stations recorded notable increases.
ATC Koibatek Rainfall Stationin Baringo County recorded the highest seven-day total rainfall of99.4mm. Other stations that recorded significantrainfall totals during the review period include Eldoret Airport Meteorological Station (95.2mm), Eldoret Meteorological Station (90.3mm), Msabaha Meteorological Station (85.5mm), Katimok Kenya Forest Service Station in Baringo County (84.2mm) and Nyamira D.O’s Office (83.4mm)as depicted in Figure 2….read more
