
KENYA TO BORROW LESSONS FROM PAKISTAN TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN

Kenya will borrow concepts from the Pakistan government on how to accelerate and manage the national tree planting project that is aimed at achieving the 10% tree cover.
From the programme dubbed the “Billion Tree Tsunami” Pakistan has managed to plant 1 billion trees in 5 years.
Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has said that learning lessons from Pakistan will help in Planting millions of trees across the country to help tackle climate change and reverse environmental degradation just like Pakistan did.
The CS spoke today when he met Pakistan Minister for Environment Malik Amin at the sidelines of the on going UNEA4 confrence.
