
YOUTHFUL GIRL HELP COMMUNITY TURN WASTE INTO POWER
Ms Monique Ntumngia a Cameroonian entrepreneur is the 2019 World Wildlife Fund (WWF) prestigious International President Youth Award winner.
Since 2015 the Green Girls Organisation which she established has trained over 772 girls from 30 communities in Cameroon on how to generate renewable energy from the sun and waste using modern technologies like Artificial intelligence and a unique scoring model (MNKB92).
Under her watch over 100 solar installations providing electricity to rural homes have been set up and over 30 Green Girls clubs have been established.
While congratulating the winner Environment CS Keriako Tobiko called on the youth to take up leadership roles and ensure they make the world a better place to live in. “We are soon retiring and eventually expiring, it is upto you the youth to take up leadership mantle, you have our support” The CS assured.
Monique in her acceptance speech thanked WWF for the honour and assured the world that the future is in safe hands.
